More Than Books ~ Finding Your People in the Most Unexpected Way

Last week was one of those weeks where I genuinely couldn’t believe it was real ✨

In one of my book groups, I won “Bestie of the Week,” and when I tell you they did not hold back… I mean it.

Packages showed up almost daily ~ books, snacks, cozy little surprises ~ and every time something new arrived, I just kept thinking, what is this life?

It was fun. It was exciting. And yes… it was incredibly sweet 🥹

But as the week went on, I realized something important.

The best part wasn’t the packages.

It was what they represented.

💙 THE SHIFT

Somewhere along the way, this group became more than just a place to talk about books.

It became a space where people show up for each other.

Where conversations go beyond surface-level.

Where you start recognizing names, then personalities… and eventually, friendships.

Real ones.

✨ WHY THIS MATTERS

I think so many of us want connection ~ but we don’t always know where to find it.

We tell ourselves:

• “It’s hard to make friends as an adult”

• “Online friendships aren’t the same”

• “I wouldn’t even know where to start”

But the truth is… there are spaces out there filled with people who already love the things you love.

Books. Beauty. Fitness. Travel. Whatever it is.

And when you step into those spaces and actually participate ~ not just scroll ~ you start to build something.

🫶🏼 PUT YOURSELF IN THE ROOM

If there’s one thing this past week reminded me, it’s this:

You have to let yourself be part of it.

Join the conversation.

Play the games.

Say hi, even if it feels a little awkward at first.

Because that’s how it starts. Not perfectly. Not instantly. But gradually.

And before you know it… you’re not just in a group anymore.

You’re part of a community!

What started as a shared love of books turned into something so much bigger.

And I’m just really grateful I said yes to being part of it.

Because finding people who get you?

Who enjoy the same things?

Who show up for you in big and small ways? That’s something really special 💙
