I started Fake It Till Christmas at a strange time.

January felt heavy ~ one of those months that quietly drains your energy and puts you in a reading slump before you even realize what’s happening. I read a little, really enjoyed it… and then stalled. Not because the book wasn’t good ~ but because my brain just wasn’t ready.

So I did what readers do. I carried my Kindle everywhere, hoping one day I’d feel like opening it again.

And when I finally did? I finished it in one sitting.

This story completely surprised me. The banter was top-tier, the pacing moved quickly, and the MMC was absolute perfection. I especially loved that instead of leaning into miscommunication or a dramatic third-act breakup, the author didn’t go there. These two flirted, shared text messages, danced around their feelings ~ but still communicated and trusted each other.

It was a true slow burn, done so well, and the payoff was sweet, satisfying, and emotionally earned.

This was my first time reading Claudia Burgoa, and it absolutely won’t be my last. Fake It Till Christmas ended up being the comfort read I didn’t even realize I needed ~ proof that sometimes the right book waits until you’re ready for it.

If you love fake dating, grumpy/sunshine dynamics, and holiday(ish) romances with heart (even outside of December), this one deserves a spot on your TBR. 📚
