Book Review 📚 Wild Dark Shore

This is one of those books I don’t even know how to explain… but I’m going to try 🤍

I finished it and just sat there for a minute, trying to process everything I had just read.

Because this book?

It’s not just a story.

It’s an experience.

✨ What It’s About

At its core, this book explores love, loss, grief, trauma, and the complexity of human connection.

But it’s also so much more than that.

It’s about how those things intertwine ~ how people carry their pasts, how they show up for each other, and how messy and layered life really is.

🤍 The Writing & Feel

The writing in this book is just… beautiful.

Not in a flowery or overdone way ~ but in a way that feels intentional and almost poetic without actually being poetry.

It’s one of those books where you find yourself pausing, rereading lines, and just sitting with them for a second.

And while the story itself doesn’t move quickly, it never feels slow.

I was completely pulled in the entire time ~ constantly wanting to know what the characters were thinking and what was going to happen next.

🌿 The World & Nature

One of my favorite parts of this book was the way nature was written into the story.

It didn’t just exist in the background ~ it felt alive. Almost like its own character.

There’s even a chapter about a dandelion that I haven’t stopped thinking about since I read it.

A single flower, often overlooked or dismissed, that has actually given so much to the world around it.

That idea alone feels like a reflection of the entire book.

đź’” The Ending

And then there’s the ending…

It moved so quickly and completely wrecked me.

I was ugly crying.

It felt almost unfair at times ~ even a little cruel ~ but in a way that still made sense for the story being told.

And honestly? That’s what made it so powerful.

✨ Final Thoughts

This is one of those books that stays with you.

The kind you think about long after you’ve finished it.

The kind you don’t fully have the words for, but you know it meant something.

I don’t usually give star ratings… but if I had to?

This is a one million star read ✨
