Of course, pretending to be married to someone you already have complicated history with? Not exactly simple.
The Tension (Because Yes… There’s Plenty) 😮💨🔥
From the beginning, Ethan and Harmony have that we absolutely should not be attracted to each other but we are anyway energy.
They’ve got history, unresolved feelings, and plenty of stubbornness between them, which makes the fake marriage dynamic even more entertaining to watch play out.
There are definitely moments where you can feel the tension building as they try to keep things “fake” while clearly being very aware of each other.
Why I Enjoyed It 🤍
There were a few things that stood out to me while reading:
✨ Dual POV ~ I always love getting both perspectives in a romance.
🐶🦆 The small town details ~ Harmony’s pets were such a cute touch.
📱 Sibling dynamics ~ the brothers’ group chat had some fun moments.
🏘️ The town itself ~ between the sisters running local businesses and the wonderfully nosy townspeople, Last Hope Gulch definitely delivered those cozy small town vibes.
Final Thoughts 💭
This was an enjoyable read that kept my attention the whole way through.
Since this is book one in the Calloways vs. McGraws series, it definitely sets things up for more stories in Last Hope Gulch!
