The Principal Problem by Sienna Mills ~ Book Review

If a book keeps you up until 3am and then has you happily finishing it the next night when your dog wakes up… it’s a five-star read.

And while I don’t typically give star ratings (because as a mood reader, it truly depends on my headspace), if I was going to rate this one? It would be five bright, shiny stars. ✨

The Principal Problem by Sienna Mills is officially my favorite read of the year so far.

What It’s About

This is a small-town, enemies-to-lovers romance with a messy history and a very inconvenient new boss situation.

The golden boy who made her childhood miserable?

Now he’s all grown up. And he’s her principal.

What starts as tension-filled forced proximity quickly turns into something layered, emotional, and completely addictive.

The Tension (Yes, We’re Talking About It)

Let’s just address it.

The tension in this book is unreal.

This is a slow burn done right ~ full of pining, unresolved history, longing looks, and that “we do this one time” energy that we all know is never just one time.

And when the payoff comes? It delivers.

Why I Loved It

There were a few things that really made this one stand out for me:

• Dual POV ~ being inside both of their heads made the tension even stronger.

• He falls first (which will always get me).

• Snowed in. One bed. Enough said.

• A redemption arc that actually feels earned.

• Small-town dynamics with gossip, history, and complicated layers.

It’s emotional without being heavy, steamy without feeling forced, and layered without dragging.

And if you end up reading it, come back and tell me your thoughts.

I love knowing what you think. 🤍

Final Thoughts

As someone who reads a lot of romance, it takes something special to genuinely surprise me or make me stay up way past a reasonable bedtime.

This one did. And the best part? It’s the first in a six-book Blue Ridge series, and I’m already counting down to the next one.

If you love:

– enemies to lovers

– slow burn with real pining

– messy heroines

– heroes who grow and redeem themselves

– interconnected standalones you can binge

You need this one on your TBR.
