📚 What I Read in a Week With a 9 to 5

Between work, family, content creation, and trying to remember to drink water ~ reading sometimes feels like the first thing to go. But this particular week, I decided to track how much I actually did read… even with a full schedule. Spoiler alert? It all adds up. ✨

🗓 My Reading Week Breakdown

Sunday, 11/02

Started Sleigh Bells and Snowstorms ❄️ by Claire Kingsley

📖 114 pages read

⏰ 11:00pm –12:30am (with lots of interruptions because... life)

Monday, 11/03

📖 152 pages

Read in two pockets: early morning instead of scrolling and while waiting at the tire repair shop

➡️ Finished the book!!

Tuesday, 11/04

Started If You Claim Me 💍 by Helena Hunting

📖 50 pages

⏰ 30 minutes ~ sometimes a short session is all you need!

Wednesday, 11/05

📖 0 pages

I decided a puzzle was more important

Thursday, 11/06

📖 31 pages

A late-night attempt that turned into falling asleep as I was reading 😴

Friday, 11/07

📖 0 pages

Sometimes you just don't open your book and you just carry it around with you ~ and that's okay...

Saturday, 11/08

📖 189 pages

Two solid reading blocks after dinner and again at midnight ~ a mini read-a-thon 💫

Sunday, 11/09

📖 256 pages

Wrapped up the book with three reading sessions throughout the day (yes, including one past midnight ~ dedication or chaos? You decide 😉)

✨ The Final Count

📚 792 pages

📅 2 books finished

🧠 1 full workweek + regular life things (errands, family, dog snuggles, and a puzzle or two)

💬 What I Learned

You don’t need perfect conditions to be a reader. You don’t need hours of free time.

You just need small moments and the willingness to open a book.

The week reminded me that reading isn’t about how fast you go ~ it’s about staying connected to something that fills your cup. Even when the schedule feels full.

Reading doesn’t have to be aesthetic or uninterrupted to count. It can happen in messy pockets of time ~ while waiting for tires, unwinding at night, or between tasks.

If you're balancing a full life but still want to read more? Keep a book nearby. Choose stories that excite you. And remember ~ 20 pages here and there can lead to 2 whole books by the end of the week. 💓
